We had a scrumptious Thanksgiving feast over here. I had Thanksgiving in a sports bar last year (because I was traveling), so everything tasted extra good. We all pitched in a couple of dishes. Turkey, stuffing (!!), homemade cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, jumbo shrimp, Peter’s pumpkin soup, cranberry walnut bread and pumpkin pie. I’ve been eating leftovers every single day since the big day and I am still loving every bite as if it was the first.

We didn’t go Black Friday shopping (or Black Thursday shopping for that matter, oy), but we did go out over the weekend to get presents for Cynthia, our little Salvation Army angel. Our community has an Angel Tree program. I hope she likes what we picked out!

Monday was Peter’s (my papa) 60th birthday!!! Wowza. The big 6-0. We took him out to Gordon Biersch and showered him with gifts.

Fried Calamari // Seared Ahi Tuna with Kale & Quinoa Pilaf // Cajun Fish Tacos // NY Strip Steak // Kobe Black and Bleu Burger

The wasabi aioli served with the ahi tuna was incredible—creamy with just a little kick! As was the kale & quinoa pilaf. The kale was paired with warm quinoa, dried cranberries, and tossed in a dressing. Must recreate.

Steak and beer made the birthday Papa one happy man. As was this slice of chocolate cake the size of my head (and my head ain’t small!). This photo does NOT do it justice. It was about 3x the size that it appears. The middle was mousse and the top was fudge icing. SO decadent, rich and glorious.
