I went on a double date (!!) with Kat Lobes and her fiancé (saying the F word will never get old) at The Wine Kitchen in downtown Leesburg.
The first and only time we went was for KL’s birthday over 2 years ago and we were SO excited to go back.
I started with the Wild and Wonderful Whites flight.
Herb Crusted Scallops with the most delicious corn risotto underneath, arugula salad, roast pepper coulis and popcorn. I could’ve eaten another 10 of those scallops. Make that 20.
For dessert, we tried the fried strawberry shortcake and ginger-grapefruit curd with rosemary cookies & honeycomb candy. The shortcake won, though the honeycomb candy garnish was pretty spectacular.
Afterwards, we braved the heat and humidity and went mini golfing at Woody’s in Herndon. The Perils of the Lost Jungle course was pretty spooky with all sorts of strange creatures water squirting out of nowhere. I’m pretty sure the last time I went mini golfing was around sophomore year of high school…?
Random…I spotted a baby deer (fawn?) with his/her mama in my backyard. Too cute. Also, this random squirrel was just chillin’ on our door ledge for like an entire hour. I don’t know why I feel the need to show you the animals in my yard. Just go with it.
I got my first ever shellac gel manicure and was immediately enamored. Instantly dry and no chipping! I wash way too many dishes so regular nail polish starts chipping within days no matter which brand I use.
I got french so that I could “fill” it myself with clear nail polish when it grew out. I’m determined to make this last at least a month (so far it’s been 2.5 weeks and only juuuust starting to peel a little bit).
This is the BEST Jelly Belly flavor (I know some of you are thinking bleghhhhh). Juicy Pear is a close second.
Alright kids, have a fabulous weekend. Stay cool out there!
Tell me: What’s your favorite Jelly Belly flavor?!
